Gym Etiquette 101: The Finish Line

Finish Line resizedResults from research and surveys on exercise and gym habits found that 98% of the respondents felt exercising was important. Some felt it was extremely important while others just somewhat, but only 2% felt it wasn’t important at all.

More than half (56%) of those who participated in the surveys said that a gym is intimidating. Reasons for intimidation range from not knowing how to use the equipment or what’s involved in the classes to feeling bad about themselves watching all the fit bodies working out.

Every participant wants to improve their fitness level, even those already in great shape.

A fitness challenge is a personal race putting intimidations aside for the sake of building a better, healthier body. And those challenges will change and evolve over time, as fitness is a lifestyle, not an end result.

So, we have a starting line and a finish line. There is always room at the starting line, so if anyone falls out of the race they can always start over. Many races lie ahead.

By keeping with an individual’s exercise program and achieving goals, the finish line is crossed, many times. There may not be any fans in the stands. There may not be any medals or ribbons, but it will happen again and again. Hold your arms up and shout, “I won! I won!”
